RS Props Metal Ears

Tried to screw them into the inner ear piece but they dont go through
So it looks like the holes in the fibreglass helmet are pretty good size-wise to allow the head of the screw to pass through. This would indicate to me that point I made earlier might be the case. The fit of the head of the screws into the countersunk holes in the upper right ear might be a bit tight. Some quick sanding of the circumference of the head of the screw will allow it to fit into the countersunk hole better.

Again, I would recommend removing the upper right ear piece from the helmet entirely to have a clearer view of things while getting the fit sorted out. Then everything can be easily reassembled.

But these two ear pieces need to be screwed together before attaching them to the helmet?
YES. Unscrew the two nuts inside the helmet and remove the whole thing. Then the two screws that you’re struggling with will thread into the outer ear cap. Then attach the rangefinder. Then re-attach those two nuts to attach the whole thing to the helmet. You’re so close.

Cool. Now you just need to get those screws to sit flush with the inner surface of the ear piece. Is that as far as you can screw them in? If so, sand the circumference of the heads of the screws a little bit to allow them to sit all the way into the countersunk holes. Once you are able to get those screws to fit properly, you can take them out again, then reassemble the main mounting bolts that hold the upper right ear to the helmet, followed by the large centre RF stalk bolt and these little screws to secure the ear cap.

If you still have trouble getting the upper ear assembly to mount properly due to it bumping in to the lower ear, you might need to adjust the location of the lower ear mounting holes, as I previously posted about.

Finally got the ears correctly installed, also added the topper that came with the MF bucket. Sadly a squirrel got a hold of it
and left some gnarly teeth marks all over! LOL no problem, it just becomes battle damage! LOL
