@intwenothor made the definitive comparison of the Michell stylus brush to the Transcriptor version here and of course on TDH way back when. It was good visual evidence the Michell was the more likely version used on the original costume when compared to the Transcriptor.
However, I recently acquired a vintage Transcriptor stylus brush that might give that a rethink. This one is way more like the Michell stylus than the one previously compared. Here is the vintage Transcriptor with a vintage Michell (label gone):
If you ask me, this version of the Transcriptor could just as easily be on the original costume. The knurling is quite similar.
Just as a quick reference to the pair Andy had, compared to my pair, Andy's on top:
And a reminder of one of the original costume sets:
Right now the only thing I see that still makes me think its the Michell on the original is how the knurling is finished on the bottom border. It finishes with flat half diamonds, where the Transcriptors is different than that on both specimens. But it matches both Michells.
