Boba87Fett’s ESB Helmet Paint List with Archive-X Paint

Hi everyone,

This is my work in progress, quick reference paint list using mostly Archive-X (or Floquil/PollyScale) for an ESB helmet paint up.
This list comes from me looking at a ton of paint ups and researching paints. I still haven’t finished my own paint up with this list, but it’s mostly what @famousfett used on my RotJ SE helmet, with a few changes to convert paint to AX. I’ve also consulted several other top painters like SuperJedi and more.

So, here’s my list!

Thinner:

• Archive-X

Helmet Base:

• Tamiya Fine Surface Primer in Gray
• Vallejo Pale Grey Blue
• PollyScale Bright Silver
• SP Lark Dark Gray

Dome:

• SP Lark Dark Gray
• B87F's ESB Fett Green: Light Green + SP Lettering Grey + SP Lark Dark Grey + Light Reefer Grey (11:10:2:2:1)
• Black Wash
• Gray misting

Kill Stripes:

• Reefer Yellow (AX thinks SP Armour Yellow)
• Reefer Orange (AX thinks SP Scarlet)

Upper Cheeks:

• SP Lark Dark Gray
• Engine Black (Possibly add drop of dark green to match Floquil Brunswick Green)
• Weathered Black

Lower Cheeks:

• SP Lark Dark Gray
• B87F's ESB Fett Green: Light Green + SP Lettering Grey + SP Lark Dark Grey + Light Reefer Grey (11:10:2:2:1)

Mandibles/Brow/Slots:

• SP Lark Dark Gray
• Custom Mix for Purple (RIM [D&H Caboose + Foundation at 10:1] + Black?) (D&H + Dark blue and black or grey?)
• 1975 D&H Caboose red

Back Panels:

• SP Lark Dark Gray
• Concrete ( AX thinks Dark Grime)
• Dark Green + Engine Black (10:2 or 10:3) (close to German RLM73 Green)

Right Ear:

• Light Earth + Earth to match 1975 Paint Chip
• Engine Black
• Reefer White

RF Stalk

• Rust

RF Topper:

• Engine Black

Left Ear:

• Caboose Red
• Custom Mix to Match Model Master Russian Armor Green

Weathering:

• Rust
• Grime
• Mud
• Gray Misting
• Black Wash

Oops no they’re essentially the same colors but one was with AX and one was with MM from FamousFett. I’ll update it.

Love to see how different people achieve the colors, particularly the primary helmet green. I have a spreadsheet tab where I've captured mine across the different Fetts. A few of them just say "mixed colors X and Y until satisfied" because I lost track of all the adjusting I did.
